Siren
In her lighthouse
Prisoner and queen
Temptress, of the seafaring brave
Death of the salty weak
Sailor
On his raft
Captain and slave
Conqueror, of the waves
Captive of the sea
She looked to water
Dark, grave, canvas
Mirror of the moon
Out of shimmering, black
Who would come?
He saw her light
Candle in the night,
Sing to him
In solitude, In
Hope, fragile, drifting
The sun kissed
Her face, the sun
Him, it beat
Rain, painted her picture
Brought him to his knees
Death
On the rocks
His port of call (his saviour, above)
Her fortress, foundation (her stranger, beneath)
The height, in oblivion
That could not be reached
(Even in death).
